The 10th Circuit Court – Family Division has received funding from the Michigan Committee on Juvenile Justice towards the DMC project in 2011-2012, 2013-2014 and 2014-2015.  The funds were provided to support Saginaw County’s continuing effort to address DMC within the juvenile justice system and child welfare system.  Since 2011, Saginaw County has moved forward with implementing a national model to identify and address DMC.

The mission of the project is to develop a comprehensive strategy for implementing a data driven approach to reduce disproportionality and disparities in the Saginaw County child welfare system and juvenile justice system.  The results of this project will be replicated in other counties across Michigan as resources are secured.
